Career Counselor
Independent Contractor | Part-time | Non-Exempt
Compensation: Fee-for-service
Career Counselors support clients with different abilities in securing meaningful employment. This includes coaching clients on job readiness, resumes, and interview skills, while also offering advocacy and emotional support throughout the job search process. Counselors may also work with students on job exploration, postsecondary counseling, workplace readiness, and self-advocacy.
This role is well-suited for professionals with experience in recruiting, career development, HR, or related fields.
Key Responsibilities

Provide individualized career counseling and coaching to clients from diverse backgrounds.

Build professional, supportive relationships while offering constructive feedback.

Assist clients with job searches, applications, resumes, and interview preparation.

Support clients in developing workplace, interpersonal, and digital literacy skills.

Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and outcomes.

Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to enhance client success.

Participate in professional development and training opportunities.

Meet with clients through virtual platforms, phone, email, or in-person sessions.

Manage a small caseload while upholding confidentiality and ethical standards.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, business, sociology, or related field preferred.

5+ years of experience in staffing, recruiting, HR, or related roles.

Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities; interpreting background a plus.

ASL or Spanish language skills preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Zoom, and MS Teams.

Ability to pass Live Scan background check.
Job Coach

Job Coaches play a vital role in helping individuals with disabilities succeed in the workplace. By providing on-the-job training, guidance, and advocacy, Job Coaches support clients in becoming as independent and successful as possible during their onboarding and beyond.
This position is ideal for those reentering the workforce or seeking flexible, part-time employment. Schedules vary depending on client needs and may include evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities

Provide individualized coaching and support to clients with diverse abilities in the workplace.

Build respectful, professional relationships with clients and employers, offering constructive feedback.

Observe and assess clients’ performance to ensure job requirements are met and recommend strategies for skill development.

Promote workplace safety and advocate for reasonable accommodations when needed.

Maintain accurate client records, progress notes, and timesheets.
-
Submit required documentation to supervisors and ensure confidentiality of client information.

Participate in ongoing training (in-person or virtual).

Represent the values of dignity, respect, and inclusion in all interactions.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; additional education in human services, social work, or related fields preferred.

Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, strongly preferred.

Basic understanding of workplace accommodations and disability inclusion.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently with flexibility, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
